Publications

Professor Gutiérrez has published 12 academic titles. In 2007 it was Chicanas in Charge: Texas Women in the Public Arena, Walnut Creek, CA: AltaMira Press. 2007. Co-authored with Michele Melendez and Sonia Noyola.

Pending publication in 2009 by Texas A & M University Press: Alberto A. Pena, Jr.: Dean Emeritus of Chicano Politics. Manuscript completed and submitted. University of Houston, Center for Mexican American Studies, 450 pps. approx.

Every two years he co-authors a text for use in Texas universities/colleges on government and politics. He is primarily responsible for the chapter on Texas Courts. The last edition was:  “The Texas Court System,” Chapter 10 in Texas Politics: Individuals Making a Difference, 3rd edition, Boston and New York: Houghton Mifflin, 2007.
